ROCK FOR A REMEDY PARTNERS WITH DAVE MATTHEWS BAND July 30, 2007

Rock for a Remedy, Inc. (RFAR) has partnered with the Dave Matthews Band for their Summer 2007 national tour to raise donations and awareness for the nation’s food insecure. Every show on the tour from Camden, NJ to Los Angeles, CA* will host a food drive to directly benefit an area food bank. Fans are asked to participate in these efforts by bringing non-perishable, non-glass food items for donation to their neighbors in need.  Every person who donates 5 cans or more will be entered into a nightly drawing to win the latest Live Trax album from Dave Matthews Band (Volume 9) – a 4-CD set recorded March 23-24, 2007 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. Our friends at the Burton Snowboards CHILL Program have donated some awesome gear you can win too!!

RFAR is also encouraging concertgoers to stop by their table to show their support for our countries’ farmers and food assistance recipients. Fans will be able to sign and send their Senators a postcard, encouraging them to pass the crucial provisions to the 2007 USDA Farm Bill.  RFAR’s official website, http://www.rockforaremedy.org lists the most up-to-date information about this initiative as well as news about additional incentives fans can win for participating in their designated food drive!

RFAR SUMMER TOUR 2007….drumroll PLEASE! July 24, 2007

Greetings Friends,

After many weeks of excitement and hand wringing, RFAR is thrilled to finally announce our Summer 2007 tour!

Beginning August 7 in Camden, NJ, the staff of RFAR will be joining the Dave Matthews Band for the duration of the tour! 32 shows and over 700,000 concertgoers, all given an easy opportunity to help the hungry in their own communities. We will be accepting non-perishable items and dollar donations to be contributed locally at every tour stop. You’ll also be able to take a stand to encourage legislators to better address the needs of food assistance recipients by signing a postcard urging elected officials to repair the damaged USDA 2007 Farm Bill, just by visiting the RFAR table.

Here’s the part you’ve been waiting for: WE NEED YOU! RFAR will be in need of volunteers to support our road staff for every show on the tour! If you are interested, please send your name, phone number, show preference, and a little something about WHY you want to volunteer for RFAR. Please note: Chosen volunteers will receive a working pass, which entitles you to lawn viewing only. We expect all volunteers to be volunteers first, concertgoers second. You’ll be able to enjoy the show, but after the food drive has been wrapped up! We ask your patience and understanding in this process–we expect a lot of email!

All receipts will be mailed by RFAR in late fall, after the tour is finished and evaluated.
